Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using CoveredIf. By uploading a document or creating an account, you agree to be bound by these terms.
1. What CoveredIf Is
CoveredIf is an AI-powered document analysis tool that reads homeowners, landlord, condo, renters, and umbrella insurance policy documents and generates plain-English summaries to help policyholders understand their coverage.
CoveredIf is not a licensed insurance advisor, agent, broker, or attorney. Nothing produced by CoveredIf constitutes insurance advice, legal advice, or a recommendation to purchase, cancel, or modify any insurance policy.
2. Not a Substitute for Professional Advice
The analysis generated by CoveredIf is based on AI interpretation of your uploaded document. It is intended to help you understand your policy in plain language — not to replace consultation with a licensed insurance professional.
For coverage disputes, claims, policy changes, or any decision with financial consequences, you should always contact your insurance company or a licensed insurance agent directly.
3. Accuracy and Limitations
While we work hard to make CoveredIf's analysis accurate and useful, AI-generated analysis may contain errors, omissions, or misinterpretations. CoveredIf makes no warranty — express or implied — that the analysis generated is complete, accurate, or up to date.
Coverage determinations are ultimately made by your insurance company based on the full terms of your policy. CoveredIf's analysis does not constitute a coverage determination.
4. How Your Document and Data Are Handled
When you upload a document to CoveredIf:
- Your document is processed by Anthropic's commercial API (the developer interface to the Claude AI model). CoveredIf passes the document to Anthropic in real time to generate the analysis.
- The PDF you upload is never saved on CoveredIf's servers. Not stored, not logged, not backed up — for any user, regardless of account status.
- Anthropic does not use your data for AI model training under its commercial API terms, and Anthropic automatically deletes API inputs and outputs within 30 days (currently 7 days).
- For one-time anonymous analyses, the analysis results are displayed in your browser session only and are not saved anywhere by CoveredIf.
- For Professional account holders, the structured analysis results are saved to your account dashboard so you can return to them later — but the original PDF is still never stored.
By uploading a document, you confirm that you have the right to do so — meaning it is your own policy document or you have authorization from the policyholder to upload it on their behalf.

5. Accounts and Subscriptions
You may use CoveredIf for one-time analyses without creating an account. To access the Professional plan and its benefits — including the ability to save reports, view a dashboard of past analyses, and run up to 10 analyses per month — you must create an account.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. If you sign in with Google, your account security is managed by Google. You agree to provide accurate information when creating an account and to notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, abuse the service, or are used for fraudulent or illegal activity.
6. Payment and Refunds
CoveredIf offers a one-time analysis for $15 per policy and a Professional subscription for $49 per month. Payments are processed securely through Stripe.
One-time analyses: All sales are final. Because the analysis is delivered immediately upon payment, we do not offer refunds once an analysis has been generated. If you experience a technical error that prevents your analysis from completing, please contact us and we will make it right.
Professional subscriptions: Subscriptions renew automatically each month until canceled. You may cancel at any time through your account billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period, and you retain access to the Professional features until then. We do not offer prorated refunds for partial months.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, CoveredIf and its owners shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service or reliance on any analysis generated. Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction with the service is to stop using it and, where applicable, cancel your subscription.
8. Intellectual Property
The CoveredIf platform, branding, system prompts, and underlying technology are the intellectual property of CoveredIf. The analysis generated from your specific policy document is yours to use for personal purposes. You may not resell, redistribute, or use CoveredIf's analysis output for commercial purposes without written permission.
9. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use CoveredIf to:
- Upload documents you do not have the right to share
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract our system prompts or underlying logic
- Use automated tools to submit documents at a rate that would constitute abuse of the service
- Resell CoveredIf analyses or present them as your own work for commercial gain without permission
10. Third-Party Service Changes
CoveredIf relies on third-party services including Anthropic, Stripe, Google, and Railway. We endeavor to keep our Privacy Policy and these Terms accurate as those third parties update their own policies, but we cannot guarantee that third-party practices will remain unchanged. Material changes affecting our users will be communicated through updates to our Privacy Policy and, where appropriate, direct notice.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects when they were last updated. For material changes affecting paid subscribers, we will provide notice by email before the changes take effect. Continued use of CoveredIf after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
